Bookings will be made on receipt of payment on a first received first booked basis
and at the discretion of the organisers. The organisers retain the right to refuse any
booking and to cancel any booking with a full refund.
The Market Supervisor cannot guarantee a stall location will be reserved for regular

In the event that all spaces become booked, the organisers will be happy to retain
details in case of possible available spaces due to cancellations.

Cancellation Policy
Our cancellation policy allows for a full refund in the event of a cancellation by the
trader, no later than four days prior to the event to allow us time to find a replacement.
The cut off day and time is 5pm the Wednesday preceeding the market. Thereafter the
booking fee is non-refundable. Traders must email or phone the Market Supervisor (Kim
on 07985 749155) to notify them of their non-attendance with as much notice as
The organisers may cancel the event in severe weather conditions, in which case, pitch
fees would be refunded.

The organisers accept no liability for damage of stock, vehicles, personal
possessions, or injury due to accident or otherwise during the event.
Stallholders are responsible for their own public liability insurance regarding their
stock, personal possessions & vehicles during the event. You will be asked to show
proof of your public liability insurance prior to the start of the event.
The Stall holder agrees to indemnify the Council from and against all claims, demands,
damage costs charges and expenses howsoever arising from the use by the Stall holder
of the facilities whether due to the act of default or negligence of the trader or their
staff or agents and that a public liability insurance policy covering a minimum One
Million Pounds (£1,000,000) for any one accident is obtained by the trader prior to use of
the facilities to include the liabilities assumed under this Licence and is maintained
during its continuance. Copies of Insurance Certificates shall be provided with the
application form and be available for inspection by the Town Clerk or Market Supervisor
at every market – if requested.
Stallholders are responsible for any liability regarding their stock and any defects in
items they have for sale at the event.
Mostly genuine Antique and Vintage stock please, no reproduction items. Good quality
hand made items are also allowed providing they have a vintage feel and/or are made
from recycled materials. The sale of firearms, air weapons, explosives, sheath knives/
cut-throat razors, hunting knives, pornography and counterfeit goods is prohibited.
Standard Regulations
All traders should be fully aware of any current relevant statutory legislation e.g. Health
and Safety that may affect an open market, and should comply with such regulations
whilst trading at a Langport Town Council market.
If using your own gazebo, please make sure you have enough weights to make it safe in
extreme weather conditions.

Age of Traders
All Traders left in sole charge of the Stall must be 18 years of age or over.

Stall Boundaries
Some stalls will provided and set-up by Langport Town Council. Traders must not
encroach on the space reserved for other traders by placing goods beyond the
boundaries of the stall. Neither shall the placement of such goods provide a hazard to
members of the public.

Spreading Over
If traders wish to spread goods over to fill a neighbouring stall that is vacant through
the absence of another trader, then they may only do so with the market supervisor’s

The trader shall at all times conduct his/her business in a clean, honest, civil and
business-like manner, without causing obstruction of the passageway adjoining the
facilities, or interfering with the business of other traders.

Traders wishing to supply electricity to their stall only PAT tested electrical items
associated with market stalls may be used for the operation of: lighting, tills, scales,
refrigerators and hotplates. Electricity can be provided free of charge with advance
notice to the Market Supervisor. No portable gas appliances are permitted.

Except by written permission of the Town Clerk, no trader, nor any person acting on his
authority or consent, shall either interfere with or change the design or layout of the
market or the facilities.

Damage to stalls
Traders may not alter, damage or deface the property of the Council. Any repairs
required as a result of damage will be recharged to the trader.

We are adjacent to a free car park and unloading is easy. Vehicles should normally be
removed from the market area and parked on Cocklemoor (subject to weather

Please keep road and car park entrance clear while setting up and unloading into your
space and thereafter.

The Trader must report all accidents, disputes, thefts and disorderly conduct to the
Market Supervisor as soon as practicable.

Property of the Trader
The Trader agrees that the their property, employees and agents, including goods
vehicles, equipment and receptacles, whilst on property belonging to the Council in
connection with the business of the Trader carried on at the facilities shall remain
vested in the owner and the Council accepts no responsibility for any loss or damage
thereto from any cause whatsoever.

The council stalls are put up between 7-9am and suggest you arrive at 8.30am. The
market opens for trade at 10.00 am and close at 4 pm. Please do not pack up before the
end of the fair as we need to have a presentable market until the advertised closing

No rubbish, empty boxes or litter to be left on your stand.
